2K YouTube views, not too shabby of a start!

This week my gaming channel on YouTube broke 2,000 views! Yes, I recognize that there are many more successful channels out there, but I'm happy with how things are starting out. I'm picking up many new skills along the way, and hopefully it's beginning to show in some of my videos.

Lots yet to do, however. I'm still looking for a royalty-free song that I feel goes well with my channel, that I can use in the intro, and it would be good to incorporate more music into some of the videos themselves. Another item on the "to-do" list is to find out exactly how copyright law plays into short clips, sound effects, quotes, etc. For example, many established YouTubers will overlay a short clip or sound effect from Star Wars into the middle of their video. Is this legal, given that it's just a momentary reference, or do they just assume that no one will challenge their use of the material?

I have a group of friends who are itching to get some group videos made, but unfortunately, capturing sound from party chat (or via other sources) is problematic. I'm still waiting on the last cable to arrive to be able to record party chat, so hopefully that will work itself out shortly.

Anyway, there are a plethora of other things on my list of goals for improving my videos, my channel, this website, and so on, but it's a good start in my book. Thanks for being there for the ride!
